pn Dárinne io, n. Tribe-name formed from Dáire with the neutral suffix -ne. Usually written Dairḟine through false association with fine. The dative Dáirḟiniu ( Exp. 23 , Cymmrodor xiii ) and passages like rí Dáirfine duind BR 82. 2 f.b. are against the analysis as Dáir-ḟine, fine being a fem. stem in ( Wb 28 a 4 ). In this connec- tion the phrase Fine Dáire LL 14 a 33 , Cóir A. § 68 is of no consequence.—Also pl.: do Dairinib dó SG 311. 44 .
