adj in -n compounds. 1 dath colour, complexion , 1 and 2 daith bright, nimble . In Mid.-Ir. daith- and dath- are equivalent as far as the pronunciation is concerned. dath-aigthech bright-faced, of a bright appearance : do bhocóidibh donn bhána dealbhsnuighte dathaightheacha duinnsgiath ML 128. 17 . dath-álaind of lovely colour, fair of hue or complexion; opp. dathgrándae: déd dathálaind ┐ láṁa dírgha datháille ┐ corp sneachtaighi, Ériu iii 152. 22 . colptha dírgi datháilli RC xxiv 200. 2 . a dathaib dígraissi dathálli, TTr. 141 . a sgiath dubhghorm dathálainn OT 17. 6 . in dias niamdha ndatháluinn, Acall. 1871 . dá óclach donna datháille drechṡoillsi TBC 5458 . buiden eile...pa dígrais dathalainn étrochtglan fociochlatar isin tulaigh, ib. 5545 . a láim Dhúthaigh dhatháluinn, Oss. vi 140. 12 .
